For Poppy King, owner of Lipstick Queen, there is nothing more empowering than a lipstick and this lipstick obsessive wants to share that empowerment with you. Poppy set herself on an adventure to create a range of lipsticks tailored to all lipstick lovers needs, personally designing all the colours, textures and products in her range of lipsticks on her way. The story began with two very key lines: Saints and Sinners. Saint: sheer texture and bold colour. Sinner: opaque, adds a hint of colour. Every shade comes in Saint or Sinner formulation so you can choose between full coverage or a hint of colour in your favourite shade, no compromises.
Many a line of lipstick has been added to the Lipstick Queen selection since it all began but I've been heading back to the lipstick queen roots and putting the original formulas to the test. Prepare to be blown away by my top pick of the collection - Sunny Rouge.
Lipstick Queen lipsticks are packaged in fantastic gold packaging with a twistable bullet hosting 3.5g of lipstick. The lipstick is just beautiful just to look at and glides onto well buffed and smoothed lips with absolute ease. The formulation is really moisturising, it feels soft on my lips and doesn't highlight any problematic areas, in fact I'd say it nourishes my lips during wear.
Sunny Rouge is a subtle pink-toned red, it's a warming hue that brightens up your teeth beautifully. Wear time will vary person to person but on me the lipstick lasts around 3 hours before fading into a charming tint. I've got Sunny Rouge from the Saint collection here, meaning it's a bold pigmented with sheer colour; if this isn't your style the exact same hue is available in a more opaque formulation as well.
Are you a Saint or a Sinner?

Lipstick Queen Saint lippies retail for £18* each from Look Fantastic.

    1. It's really lovely, in the bullet it looks matte but the texture on the lips is totally different.

  2. It looks amazing on the lips. The colour is gorgeous and so wearable so even though it is really expensive it looks like it would be worth it :) xo

    1. I agree the lippies are quite expensive but the formulation and wear time is fantastic, they're definitely better than MAC by miles. I do resent paying so much for a lipstick though.

    1. I personally love the packaging, if you're talking about the gold casing that is. It's really sturdy and something a bit different. The cardboard sleeve and plastic are recyclable too, I think Poppy really wanted to create a brand that was environmentally stable and aware.

    1. The Saints are the formula for me I think, but it's nice to know there's two types of lipstick formula in all the shades.

    1. It feels really moisturising on the lips which is what I love most about the formula, I really dislike lipstsicks that make your lips dry or look dry even if they aren't.

    1. It's just lovely, I think it's very pricey for a lipstick but in many ways worth it because of the excellent formula and beautiful colour. Still, a very luxury but lovely item.

  16. That is such a beautiful colour! It looks strong and prominent but also natural at the same time (if that is at all possible haha?) How do you make your lips looks so smooth! My lips are always really cracked due to the cold. I'll exfoliate them and then they look okay but it never lasts! Lovely review, I love your blog so much :)

    1. Isn't it lovely. Thanks for your comment Lexiaa, I actually have very rough and dry lips, I take care of them by using a lip scrub about twice a week, I apply lip balm before I go to bed and about ten minutes before lipstick application. Dr.Lipp's balm is very good for smoothing out lips before lipstick, that's what I used here in these pictures! Maybe this calls for a lipbalm/lipcare post ;)
